“And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10
There are a few different interpretations to this passage, but there’s only one real truth right? Or is there? Ask for forgiveness and ask for understanding and stay in the Good Word – Spiritually become one with the Holy Word.
Mary could “hear” the Word of God. Martha was troubled by the things of this world and serving men. To truly be helpful to others in the eternal sense, we need to be able to “hear” the Word of God. There is NOTHING in this world worth losing eternity for.
We will not overcome this world without Jesus Christ.
Stay strong in Christ, sisters, in God’s Holy Word and Son, our King and our Savior. Love will and is waxing colder and colder in this world while vanity, envy, and hate grows stronger and stronger.
Choose “that good part.” Go to the source.
