Being a follower of Jesus Christ is actually not a private matter. It’s not a private club or a membership you sign up for. Once you put your “hands to the plow” there is no turning back. You are forever committed to the Holy Word of God and can never deny His Name. Jesus Christ warns us that things will only get worse when we do. Lot’s wife looking back on Babylon and turning into a pillar of salt is a parable to this. For this reason, no pastor should ever be to eager to brag about how many they’ve brought to Christ.
No one should be appalled or even surprised when a follower of Christ speaks up against evil. Instead, they should understand that we truly believe. What kind of followers would we be if we followed in private? That just would not make any sense, would it, I mean, If we truly were given personal proof and truly believed?
