“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding”
– Proverbs 9:10.
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
– 1 John 4:18
No, these are not conflicting. These verses, combined, simply mean that when we know where all good things come from and when we do not take our God for granted, wisdom, if we ask for it, can begin to grow. Once we begin growing in God’s good grace, fear of this world will diminish through God’s everlasting peaceful covenant of true, spiritual love.
